Autumn bicycling in Minnesota

September turned out to be a great month for biking. Low wind, and summer-like temperatures. I tallied about 150 miles back & forth to Northfield and meet my carpool.

We got 2 inches of rain. Much needed moisture for farmers, gardens, etc. Windy out of the North, and finally dropped the temperatures so we needed to bundle up. I paused my biking, but got out today for a 20 mile round trip to church.

Today is the Twin Cities marathon, and traditionally that weekend is the PEAK fall color in central Minnesota... but this summer's cool weather has delayed that peak, and the best is yet to come around Oct 7 - Oct 12.

My bicycle clothing layers will keep me comfortable to about 20 degrees. I have 3 bright lights, and well equiped to cruise deeper into the fall. :)
