Minnesota's rain has been frequent; 14 rainy days in the first 16 of June! To get out on the bike, I bicycled to my Travelers work in St. Paul on both dry days! My 32 miles go well. There is so much daylight that I don't need my headlamp, even during my 5:00 - 7:00AM slot! Today, I brought my camera to show this route:
>Apple Valley library (5:50AM)
> Past "MN Zoo"
> Blue Cross Ins (Note: 2 of my sisters worked here during high school. And I interviewed here after College. But chose Travelers instead!)
> Dakota Co has a beautiful biking trail along the Mississippi River! My last 9 miles are on this cool nature trail!!!
> Mendota Bridge, and Mpls skyline in the foggy morning is over top of bridge.
(I used to cross this bridge as a boy, when my family drove to St. Paul)
> The trail was built on a old RR bed, so it is pretty straight)
> Minnesota & Mississippi Rivers merge here.
River, RR and trail.
7AM crewing teams starting on the Mississippi River under Wabasha Street Bridge. One team had "St. Thomas" logo. My alma mater!
My niece, Shallon rowed on this team about 10 years ago. :)
> St. Paul skyline. And Travelers' building.
I biked past our Minnesota State Capitol.
> After work, Jean & I met at Como Park, and we visited college friends.
> Como Park conservatory.
