2011 Bicycling stats

2011 was unusually dry between August - December.    So, my bicycling season continued into late November, when it got too dark for my bicycle commuting.   I paused my gardening & biking, and sang in 2 choirs this Fall & Winter.  Here are some statistics and commentary about my bicycling year:

"2011"
--> Best scenery:  Jaye Cooke State Park, Duluth MN

--> Best outdoor sounds:  Birds at Cannon Valley bike trail, Red Wing,  with Fr Denny & group.

--> Fun purchase for biking:  January 1 signup for MN Ironman.  (But, see "rainy" note below!)

--> Hottest day?

--> Rainiest day?  On May 1, WE HAD WINDY, RAINY 38 degree day, so I had to cancel '2011 Ironman.  :(

And all of May'2011 was wet and rainy. We waited and waited...

--> Number of flat tires?  0

--> Roadside bungee cords?  8 sighted, 3 collected.

--> Creative repair:     Jean sewed my red saddlebag... torn from carrying my Travelers Insurance laptop!

--> Best downhill:  Jaye Cooke hills

--> YTD mileage:  850 miles.  Mostly commuting, and Northfield trips.
