Summer!

How time flies! In late June, Jean & I visited Laura at her teaching music camp, and the International Peace Garden. Then Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Black Hills. We watched the local vegetation, and noticed Laura's Canadian region had spring flowers blooming (lilacs). The national parks in the high mountains had spring wild flowers blooming. The photo below shows a 9,000+ foot pass with an "Alpine Tundra" and blue forget-me-nots were blooming.

After 9 days on the road, we found our garden plants doubled in size with the heat and nice rainfall. I've been hoeing and weeding regularly since. The garden harvest has: peas, broccoli, green beans, beets, cabbage and our wild black raspberries.

I'm biking every-other-day to meet my carpooler. It makes a 22 mile total ride. It feels great to wear short sleeves, biking shorts and sun glasses. Ahhh, the warmth of summer!
