It's still too early to garden in Minnesota. Jean and I put away the snow shovels and ski equipment used during the past winter season. Soon, our outdoors will green up. Never mind the two snowfalls we just got in early April. That white stuff will melt; “green” is wife Jean's favorite color!
2009 will be a year of bicycling too. I'm planning to take some long trips. For years, I dreamed to take a multi-day ride. I'm going for it!
· Sunday, April 26th - MN Ironman
· May 11th (week) - Bicycle to visit John in Madison.
Early spring rides have two added challenges... (1) you must train in the winter, (2) you might have cold, windy or wet weather! I began my training indoors since Christmas. Only recently, I'm riding outdoors. Today, I took a 15-mile ride to Farmington. The brisk North-East wind, slid the thermometer from 43 degrees down to 39. My new biking clothing worked WONDERFULLY! Each piece of clothing has a purpose. Inside my new windbreaker, I felt good, and I finished with rosy cheeks.
