Today is Palm Sunday. Laura came home from Gustavus College so she would play her flute at our Church of St. Dominic. My choir sings at 10:30AM Mass. This begins the Easter Season 2009, my favorite music of the year.
I'm glad Jean & I cleaned the garage and I took my training bike ride on Saturday. We woke today to snow covering the grass, and it's is 32 degrees F. Brrrr!!!
Let me catch up on the February and March preparations. I registered for the Minnesota Ironman ride. Now, I'm getting tips from bicycling web links.
I attended a March class by a cycling coach, Bob McEnaney. He had many great ideas about bicyle clothing and nutrition. From the fresh ideas, I shopped to upgrade my touring bike AND clothing. You see, my cycling clothing were for warm, summer rides.
Here was my shopping list:
· Odometer, 2 tires, another spare tube, reflectors. Another bike bottle holder. Flashing red LED light.
· The coolest thing was a pouch mounted between my handlebars. It has a waterproof map holder on top. Sweet!
· New pedals, cleats, and new biking shoes.
Clothing? I got to get ready for wind, and chilly weather!
· Wool socks, wind-proof gloves, leg-warmers.
· BRIGHT yellow jacket.
· Two yellow jerseys. Poly knit long-sleeved shirt, shorts.
· Biking cap. It's wonderful under my helmet on a cold day!
· A 2-piece rain suit; just in case!
