In the last week, I continued overhauling my Raleigh touring bicycle. New tires, tubes, chain. The darn fenders did NOT fit. Oh well, another trip to the bike shops!
I rode outdoors on Wednesday for 38 miles via a Northfield / Stanton / Randolph loop. 50 degrees but windy. At least the wind was at my tail coming home, and I sailed!
Back in the 1980's, I occasionally used my bicycle for commuting in St. Paul. In the last 22 years, I only drove car or carpooled to work. But on Friday, April 17th I biked to my carpoolers' in morning & evening. Beautiful weather. Totalled 22 miles today in that round trip.
Saturday was for gardening. Jean & I transplanted a tree and asparagus. Jean toured the Bachman's Cedar Ave store with a friend. We got the cold-frame ready, and tilled the garden. The light rain today is greening up the yard.
Now, if only the rains stop; I need bike training yet today. The MN Ironman is 7 days away! :)
