Pedaling over the Mississippi River

Winona, Monday May 11th, 6:30AM. (Day #2)

Ate a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Outside it is a chilly 40 degrees, but sunny and beautiful blue skies.

I pedal through Winona. The crab apple trees are at their peak BLOOM everywhere this week!

I have another lifetime first, in bicycling OVER the tall bridge above the Mississippi River. I took lots of photos from the bridge.

There is a small NW breeze at my back. (I pays to be a farm boy who closely follows the weather forecasts.) I'm predicting the weather will turn into a strong headwind, and rain by mid-week. I'm planning to pedal steadily, but not race. This is day #2. Can I arrive in 3 days?

:-) What's blooming on May 11? EVERY crab apple tree between Farmington and Madison! Wow!
